Well, here we go again. I am hoping that the wealth of knowledge here in the forum can help me out. My buddies and I are thinking about taking a trip to Alaska to do some fishing, but unfortunately we don't have a clue on where to start. There are so many options. We are looking for an all inclusive package and don't want to get ripped off. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I would contact fellow blogger Fred Telleen at http://www.mysticfishing.com. He's a great guy, great guide and owns Mysticfishing in Alaska.

Not intending to speak poorly of mystic fish, but there are many much more interesting trips than the kenai peninsula, if I was going to do a trip there I would just rent an RV in Anchorage and drive around, Ben at Trophy Drifters is an exellent rainbow and sockeye guide on the Kenai, as is mystic fish, and about 45000 others.. you can rent a driftboat in soldotna for a hundred bucks a day… the middle river is an easy float. Myself, after 24 years in Alaska and visiting most of the noteable waters is that no lodge expirence is better than the Thorne Bay lodge on Prince of Wales island, in may its on with dozens of creeks and rivers full of steelhead and the rest of the summer is salmon fest.. they rent cabins, ATVs and trucks and you can buy a map and self guide. you can go to http://www.fishalaskamagazine.com and find all the info you will ever need- Brad
