Gear Review Opportunity 11/16/12 – a sharpening tool that EVERYONE can use!

This week, in our pre-Thanksgiving Gear Review Opportunity, we bring to you a really neat sharpener from Work Sharp tools – the Guided Field Sharpener 221.  When I first looked at this on their website, I thought it looked like a neat gadget for sharpening your knife.

And then I watched the video.  Which you should do as well, by clicking HERE.

WOW!  I’ve seen, and owned, a lot of sharpeners in my life, from Arkansas whetstones to multi-use gimmicky things, but this one really has my attention.  I can’t imagine anyone who spends any time outdoors not being able to use this tool for multiple applications.  Well – enough of my pining over the tool – here are the specs.

Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener

DESCRIPTION FROM THE WEBSITE:

The Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener 2.2.1. is the complete knife sharpener for field, home or shop use. It is the first Angle Guided, 5 stage sharpening solution designed for sportsmen who need a complete, robust and compact field sharpening solution.

Legendary knife maker, Ken Onion said of the Guided Field Sharpener, “ I am impressed with the clever details like the magnetic plate holders, angle guides, round ceramics and strop, all in a small easy to carry package. It is by far the best manual, portable sharpener I have ever used…. I especially like the versatility of it. I have used it on flat and re-curve blades as well as fishing hooks and leather punches and it performed well. Something for everyone in this little package.”

(2) Diamond Plates, (2) Ceramic Rods, (1) Leather Strop and Sharpening Guides provide a fast, easy and consistent sharpening solution for knives and camp tools. The 20° and 25° sharpening guides create consistent blade edge angles with speed, ease and repeatability. The sharpening guides are purpose built for your hunting knives, pocket knives and filet knives. Strong rare earth magnets secure the easily interchangeable diamond plates and also provide coverage for the Broadhead Wrench and small storage compartment. Compact design and Lanyard Hole make it easy to pack carry on your next outdoor adventure so you can sharpen anytime, anywhere with speed and ease. Also sharpens serrated knives, fish hooks, broadheads and many common camp tools.  Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener 2.2.1.
