Winner of the Montana Fly Company Reel

This announcement post proves my level of willpower. The reel is still here, sitting next to my desk un-tampered with. Still brand new.

I did not run off to the nearest river…
tempting as it was.

Comment #5 ~ The River Damsel

That’s fitting. It was The River Damsels birthday this weekend.
So…Happy Birthday and Happy New Reel RD!

Congrats! Be sure to hit that contact button up in the navigation and get your information over to me asap. I leave on Weds for a 10 day fly fishing trip and I’d love to get your reel out before I go.

Otherwise it might accidently go with me or it’ll be sitting on my desk. Lonely and sad until I get back.

Thanks Again to Montana Fly Company!!

The reel that is on the bamboo rod was pretty nice. I played around with the drag and it performed really well. I usually don’t bother with drag settings on a fly reel, but I wanted to know what it could do. I know a few guys mentioned in the journal that they switched it out for lighter reels, but I had no issues with it. The weight didn’t bother me at all and it looks so cool. You’re going to like this RD.

Thanks, Ken. I have heard good reviews on the MFC reels. So, I’m anxious to see it in action!
