Gear Review Opportunity: Lightload Outdoor Towels

Light Load Towels for OutdoorsThis weeks gear review opportunity comes to us from Light Load Towels and we have a few twists up our sleeves on this one.

Lightload Towels are the lightest, most versatile, super absorbent travel and beach towels ever. Have one (or two, or three) be part of your hiking, backpacking, camping, travel and other outdoor activity gear.

A Testimony about Lightload Towels:

Lightload towels

Small!

“was given 3-pack a couple of years ago as a stocking stuffer gift  from my father-in-law (I suspect he found them at BackpackingLight or REI) and I’ve since picked up another 3-pack with nearly every REI order. I’ve found them to be useful in a wide range of activities first aid   kit, survival kit, backpacking and camping.

Of course, their packability can’t be matched – a huge perk for those of us crammed into small quarters in NYC. I decided that this year, I would add them to reusable bags as my stocking stuffer gifts – and have a supply left over for me.Thanks for the excellent customer service and great product.”Mike

I know I could use several of them for a multitude of Outdoor Activities. Small, light, useful–perfect for Outdoors.

So here’s the deal with this gear review opportunity:

Two pack of the mini lightoad towels.

1. Machine washable under delicate and keep dry when possible
2. super absorbent-drys up to 10 times it’s weight in water
3. biodegradable in two ways by composting in ground or burning
4. only .25 oz
5. Each towel is a 30 by 30 cm or 12 by 12 inch toewel
6. Each piece has a waterproof packaging.
7. Care instructions:Wash Under delicate conditions and keep dry when possible.
8. Dipping the towel in water softens it up and makes it easy to open for some applications.

I’ll give them a try. Hunting can be very “messy”. I’ve needed a towel many times, but usually just end up using my shirt tail. I could describe how I would use them, but it may be a little too graphic for a comment (but not a hunting blog post)!

These things are cool! Hey Rebecca – you know what you need though – on these posts like this? Some SHARE buttons! I’ve got tons of OBN folks in my FB and Twitter feeds. Or hey – maybe you could open up a few contests here and there to bloggers who aren’t members of OBN. Just a thought!
    I like towels.

    :)

You mean I can finally put away my cheap Walmart bandana rags and carry the real deal? Sign me up! Trust me, after catching 20 rainbow trout on a backpacking trip I could use a good towel! Thanks for the opportunity!

    Kingfish says:

    Sign me up please!

I could definitely use those lightweight ones on the kayak. I always hate pulling all the slime off of a fish after I catch it since the slime helps to keep them from getting sick.

Well…that and I can think of 1000 other things I’d rather have on my hands than fish slime.

  5. 5

Would love to try these out on my fishing trips. They may become bait towels, but if they’re durable enough, and get rid of all the fish slime, they’ll be attached to my fishing pack for a long time to come.

  6. 6

    I would like these

    Brian Davis says:

Those look really cool. Small and light enough for a fishing vest. Count me in!

  8. 8

Two words, loin cloth……. Or I could just use it it was intended and replace my old camping towel. Either way, sign me up

Put me in coach! I’m ready to try the towels!

I bought a used upright stationary bike to put in front of the TV. I sweat a lot when riding it. This rag could make me (seem) less gross. That would make my wife happier. So I guess what I’m saying is, yes I’m in!

    Home Skillet says:

These look perfect for helping to keep the camera gear dry on those damp steelhead shoot days. I think I see a product placement in the Hooked Up Films future short films. :)

  12. 12

These would be AWESOME for having anytime we are out and about with the kids (because let’s be honest, spills happen!) We could have used them plenty this past weekend between dishes, dirty faces, dirty tables, wet floors and kids who wanted to help cook! Thanks for another great opportunity!

    Christine says:

Oh yes i definitely want to try one out! Would be great for gardening and just being outdoors in general down here in South Texas. And i would love to try the beach towel out on South Padre when summer gets here in February ;)

    Sahil says:

I’d give these a try for some future fishing and hiking trips. They could definitely be useful to dry up reels and rods before storing between trips. Or to wipe down the dog before he gets back into the car after a good hike!

    Robert says:

Put me in! Would love to have these for tournament season.

    Family Wilds says:

We would love to test these out, especially when we go hiking. Our 21-month-old has a knack for finding liquid. It could drought conditions and she would somehow power drill with her tiny little fingers deep enough to strike geyser level mud. With it getting colder and wetter, these will be a necessity for her (okay, for us)! It would also be greta to ahving one of these in our climbing bag; it would be really useful there!

    Traci Lehman says:

Hi! These are great little towels and I have some some. I has also purchased these in the past and gave them as stocking stuffers! I have used them camping before and always keep unopened one I my hiking pack just incase. If I won these I would give them away to a reader of my blog.;)

Throw my name in the hat.Think they would work well on the kayak for drying electronics and camera lenses etc..Cheers

ME ME ME ME – I need (did I say really need) a towel for my Fly Fishing adventures!!!!

  21. 21

Oh man, we’re game for this one. I know that these will be great in the day pack and overnight pack, heck even in the baby bag once Dinah get’s here (which can be any day now.) I would use these things to dry sweat from my brow, dry hands at camp, heck I might even have to wipe/dry pee pee off me when I go to change the babe, that is if she ever gets here. Shoot, if I could get these suckers in time, I’d hand them to the doc to catch Dinah with. Now that would be a true test. But alas, considering Dinah could show up tonight or sometime within the next two weeks, I don’t think we will get to put the towels through that treatment, but I’m sure there will be plenty baby things to use them for in camp, on the trail or just at home.

    MNAngler says:

    Ok. I’m in. #20. Woohoo!

I would definitely take these fishing (where else?). But I bet they would come in handy hanging in my kitchen when my 6 year old spills his milk.

  23. 23
    Matthew King says:

Well you wanted creative, and one of the things I do when out in the hills is paint and sketch. I would use one of these as a brush roll – protects the brushes, is light and absorbs any remaining moisture after I’ve finished.

  24. 24
    kim says:

Fishing would be the biggest use, and I mean both ice fishing this winter and spring fishing for sure. They would surely come in handy when hiking or geocaching too. I usually have a roll of paper towels in the car and these would be SO much better. As for the beach towel, I’d love that when I go to Sanibel Island – sounds like it will fit perfectly in my carry on!

    Avatar of Mel Mel says:

Well, I would be interested in these towels, for sure! Great to carry in a fanny pack, tackle box, first aid kit, camera bag, dust cloth for the fishing rig, and skinny dippin’.

    Kev2380 says:

You can never have too many towels.

    Karen says:

We would use these towels for camping, or out on the trail as a sweat rag. Fantastic item that would pack easily!

For foraging, we could use them to clean roots or for fishing, we do usually travel with a roll of paper towels and baby wipes.

    Lovely item!

    Cory Z says:

I love to try these out. So many times out having fun out of doors even in the winter my family and I get wet and cold and never have a towel with us because of their bulk this looks like it fits the bill, small, light and packable perfect for the active family

  29. 29
    FunknFish says:

I’m all over it. As a winter steelheader in the NW I’m always wet and cold. I’ll throw these in the sled and put them through the serious paces.

Oh yes, drop my name in too. I can think of dozens of times I’ve needed a light weight but absorbant towel while yak fishing. Not the least of which would be to dry a fellow angler once the kayak was dumped in 38 degree water!
