Last Minute Notice – COLEMAN Contest!!

Sorry for the last minute notice, but one of our long-time OBN supporters – Coleman – notified us about a contest being run right now.   Click HERE for the details:

Contest Instructions

What does the outdoors mean to you? Coleman is helping organizations that encourage America’s youth camping groups to “CONTINUE EXPLORING” the outdoors by providing them with new camping gear.

Here’s how it works. Get together with your group and answer this one, basic question: “What does the outdoors mean to you?”   Write a 50-word essay (or shorter) that best answers this question, and then take a photo of your group in the outdoors. Lastly, have your group leader, who’s 18 or older, submit the photo and the essay to the Coleman Continue Exploring contest via Facebook. If we select your answer as a finalist, your group could win all new outdoor camping equipment to use on your next adventure!

All groups must be able to provide proof that it is a non-profit, youth organization in which part of its group’s mission is to teach children, 18 and under, about the great outdoors. Please see complete rules for details.

Prize Eligibility – Only persons residing in United States who are at least 18 years of age can enter.Contest Starts October 20, 2011 @ 02:00 pm (CDT)Contest Ends October 31, 2011 @ 11:59 pm (CDT)

BUT THERE’S MORE!!  As an added bonus, Coleman is offering a Micro Quad lantern to EVERY OBN registered  blogger who enters the contest!  Just send us a  comment that you’ve entered.  You will receive the lantern free from Coleman.  In the spirit of the season, you can use it as a give-away on your blog, or use it and review it.

Don’t forget to click that “like” button on the Coleman Facebook page so you don’t miss any new updates!

Good luck, and sorry for the short notice

Thanks for supporting the youth Coleman.

I would like to enter this contest but it won’t be quite so simple as the directions detail. The Kentucky Kayak Fishing Association has just received official 501(c) status. We are having our first board meeting next month to start trying to raise seed money to get things underway. Our goal it to work the Special Olympics of KY and get kayaking added as a sanctioned sport. It’s recently been added nationally, now we just need to get states involved. If our kids had to answer the question what does the outdoors mean to them, I believe the answer would be freedom. Our organization is planning on taking them on outings and teaching them to paddle. Unfortunately, it’s all too new to even have a picture yet.

I’m in. Coleman stuff is good.
