Outdoor Gear Review Opportunity Wednesday

Ok, ok, so it’s a day late, but I promise, not a dollar short on the fun. This week we have a variety of gear goods headed out to the Outdoor Bloggers of this community so I’ll get right to the good stuff.

The first item up for comment comes to us from a company most of you are already familiar with… Abu Garcia ~ For Life

They are offering 1 Abu Garcia REVO SX to a lucky OBN fisherman out there.

Abu Garcia REVO SX

Abu Garcia REVO SX

The striking Revo® SX is constructed from corrosion resistant X-Cräftic™ aluminum alloy, which is more durable and lighter than regular aluminum. Eleven High Performance Corrosion Resistant (HPCR®) bearings paired with an Infini II™ spool design provide smooth casting with added distance. The one of a kind Carbon Matrix™ Drag System creates a solid and smooth drag, not the erratic pull of line felt on most other drag systems. Available in two speeds, a 6.4:1 version or a 7.1:1model, the SX is built to land the fish of a lifetime. MSRP: $169.95

The next gear review opportunity comes to us from Pflueger Fishing Tackle.

Pflueger Arbor 35 model spinning reel

Pflueger Arbor

They are putting 1 Arbor 35 reel in the hands of 1 lucky OBN’er

Excellent precision design and smooth action make the Pflueger Arbor Spinning Reel a great choice for your spinning rig. The use of lightweight aluminum provides strength of standard aluminum without sacrificing increased weight. Feel the smooth retrieve when reeling in your catch with the Pflueger Arbor Spinning Reel.

MSRP: $64

The next it up for review grabs comes to us from Shakespeare Fishing Tackle

Catch More fish Walleye

In the hands of one lucky commenter goes a Shakespeare Catch More Fish Walleye Combo.

In this combo you’ll find:

Catch More Fish-Walleye • Features Berkley Powerbait® minnows and grubs, night-crawler harness rig, jig heads, and live bait tackle. • 30 size spinning reel, aluminum spool, filled with 6 LB. Stren line. • 6’6″ 2-piece medium action rod.

Tackle box contents:

  • Powerbait: 3″ Power Minnows and Grubs assortment
  • 2 – 1/8 oz jig heads
  • 2 – 3/8 oz walking sinkers
  • 1 – 1 hook night crawler harness rig
  • 3 – 1/0 Octopus hooks
  • 5 – Fluorescent beads
  • 4 – Size 12 barrel swivels

The next two items up for review come to us from Columbia Sportswear.

Columbia Airgill Shirt

The first item that will be going out to 1 happy recipient is the new Airgill shirt.

If you get hot and bothered about long summer days out on the water, heavy breathing is about to take on a whole new meaning. Designed to function like a set of gills, the innovative side-venting panels channel cooling airflow across your body creating a constant, refreshing natural air-conditioning system.

  • Fabric: 100% polyester ripstop
  • Omni-Shield® Blood n’ Guts advanced repellency
  • Omni-Freeze® advanced cooling
  • Omni-Shade® UPF 50 sun protection
  • Quick dry
  • Vented
  • Imported

MSRP: $80.00

Columbia Drainmaker

The next item Columbia has offered to another lucky OBN’er is a pair of their Drainmaker Shoes.

This fully drainable water shoe lets you catch the fish and release the stream.

On a recent fishing trip in the Florida Keys, we spotted guys wearing running shoes in and around the water. We figured they could do without the Soggy Shoe Syndrome, so we created a hybrid shoe that combines the lightweight comfort of a running shoe with the quick-dry capabilities of a water shoe. The upper features breathable open cell mesh with a durable TPU toe cap, while the Techlite™ midsole has built-in drainage ports in the heel and forefoot to allow water to instantly escape. Wet/dry traction is assured by a siped, lugged outsole with Omni-Grip® Wet Grip rubber for sure footing on slick surfaces.
MSRP: $80.00

So there you have it everyone.

According to the count, that would be 5 different pieces of gear heading out to the 5 people that the RNG shines upon.

Before you jump to the comment section, please think about what you could use in the above mentioned gear and state those items in your comment. If you want any of them…just say “All of the above” if you only would like the shoes…just say “Shoes please” …you get the point. So go ahead, do your thing and we’ll see you back here on Monday!

Before you pull that comment trigger: Gear Review Opportunity is open to OBN Members with an Active Blog on the Outdoor Blogger Directory. By Commenting on this Entry you confirm you have read the Reviewer Guidelines and agree to the terms and conditions. Comments will be accepted until Sunday at 5 p.m. MST. Winning comment (s) will be selected by the Random Number Generator and announced this coming Monday on the OBN. Please check back to see if the RNG has shined upon you, we don’t track down winners…

  2. 2

I’m in, I’m in!!!! Any of the prizes would be a fine addition to the Howard household!

  3. 3

Totally in for this one! Reallllly keeping fingers crossed for that Revo!

  4. 4

Pencil me in for the shirt and only the shirt.

  5. 5

Wow, just wow! What a great bunch of “stuff” in this drawing. I would be “In” for “All”.

  6. 6

I would look and feel comfy while wet wading the flats in either those shoes or the shirt!

  7. 7

I can use a new spinning reel. I can put it through gear testing hell and back. The Arbor 35 is just the right size.

  16. 16

I forget – is there like a “you can only win X number of times ” thing? If there’s not then I could sure give those fishing reels and rod/reel a work out. Not so much on the shirt or shoes. I usually fish naked when it’s not cold or raining. tee hee. ;)

If there’s a limit and I’m over then I’m just going to wait for the reviews to roll in! I’ve been wanting to get back into bass fishing with some heavier gear! Great give-away!

  17. 18

Put me in for all of them, I could put any of those items to the test!

  18. 19

Wow, a Revo and the Airgill shirt! My youngest boy just finished up his first (he’s 14) divisional bass tournament on Navajo reservoir, NM and we were looking at the Revo on the way home. We’d put that through the paces REAL soon, bass season is on!

Dad could chill out in the Airgill- sweet! Put us down for one a piece!
